Treat The Individual Not The Diagnosis
ADHD is not a one size fits all diagnosis. In fact, 25%-40% of ADHD diagnoses are actually sleep issues in disguise. Dr. Beurkens discusses how issues like A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. are often misdiagnosed or mistreated. ADHD symptoms can match the symptoms of many other problems so it is important to focus on treating the individual in front of you and not just the diagnosis.
What about medication?
If you are looking for an alternative to medication, natural treatment for ADHD does exist and can be successful. Often times medication either does not work or comes with an assortment of negative side effects. Many ADHD cases can benefit from natural treatment but it is also important to recognize that some children may need medication to resolve their ADHD symptoms.
